
EXPERIENCE
Ryan Macfarlane served as an FBI cyber agent for over two decades, holding diverse roles across field offices and headquarters, which demonstrates his deep technical, legal, and geopolitical expertise in addressing state-sponsored and criminal intrusions.
He has spent time the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force as the Cyber Assistant Legal Attaché responsible for cyber coordination with 26 partner countries in Oceania, as a member of the FBI’s Cyber Action Team responding to high-profile computer intrusions, and most recently as the Lead for the Counter Terrorism Division’s Advanced Projects Unit. His case work led to the DOJ’s first indictments of PLA cyber actors and the arrest of one of the largest senders of malware on the Internet.
