TrustedSec is proud to announce that Alex Hamerstone has joined the TrustedSec family as the new Practice Lead for the Governance, Risk, and Compliance division at TrustedSec. Alex and TrustedSec go a number of years back as friends. With Alex's addition it further increases TrustedSec's capabilities to build a well rounded information security program - not just from the technology side. TrustedSec's motto "Information Security Made Simple" holds true to Alex's beliefs and his ability to deliver effective solutions to our customers. Prior to TrustedSec, he was the Compliance Officer for TOA Technologies, a software company with enterprise customers in over 27 countries. As Compliance Officer, he was ultimately responsible for ensuring that the company complied with a multitude of data security laws and regulations all over the world, as well as ensuring that employees met corporate standards. He was also tasked with developing an employee awareness program and was responsible for TOA’s policies and procedures. A sought after resource, Alex has presented at technical conferences worldwide and been quoted in publications including Dark Reading and IT World. A prolific writer, he has written articles for FedTech and Pipeline Magazines, and is the author of Wireless Reconnaissance in Penetration Testing published in 2012 by Syngress. With nearly a decade of consulting experience around technology implementation as well as business process assessment and development, Alex has performed security assessments for and advised companies from small businesses to Fortune 100 corporations. Additional areas of expertise include documentation, regulatory compliance, cloud implementation, security awareness, standards adherence and international information security regulations. Alex’s experience covers a wide swath of industries including retail, utilities, education, insurance and healthcare, providing him a unique view into the ways that organizations effectively integrate security into business.
